Michal Bajsarowicz

The Artist
Michal Bajsarowicz is a polish artist and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan in 1992. His work often focuses on the human body but not as a simple depiction of beauty or aesthetics.
I met him in 2009 at a spine congress in Warsaw, where he had been invited to exhibited a few paintings and drawings based on the back. He told me, that his father was a surgeon and that he was fascinated by anatomy books at a young age.
'I draw very quickly to capture the movement and moment' he said. 'If I don't like it, I throw it away'.
I bought an oil painting (below) but asked him if he could show me some more drawings. He returned 2 days later with a these works.

The body is moving and energetic and yet still and calm. An aesthetic view of a posing model or spontaneous snapshot?
Just some quick sketches but full of expression.
These three drawings work perfectly as a triptych as each one is always slightly different from the other two. Can you spot this?
